Problem Description

After school, my son cannot put away his iPad because he has to do his homework online, but he often uses the iPad to watch youtube without doing his homework, and my router has no blocking function. I have to go to work and there is only one maid at home. I can't always supervise my son's homework at home.It is also difficult for me to log in to adguardhome and block youtube every day when he is doing his homework

I've found this screen capture in other issue, but I can't find this function in my Adguardhome (v0.108.0-b.8)

Is the function in the above picture has been canceled in adguard home?

Proposed Solution

In "Blocked service", set a timer function, for example, 14:00-18:00, locked youtube, so my son can concentrate on his homework, then, I don't need to log in to Adguardhome every day to turn on this blocking function

+1 for this feature. I was just about to request this, but I’m glad that it was already requested.
I think this could be a great solution for households without the ability to block all those services within the router. I my opinion this should get a higher priority on the feature request list!

Thanks for all your hard work and great program.

+1 for this feature, i think we can controlled blocked services by timer much better than manual configured.
lets say we can blocked youtube from 07:00 to 18:00 then 18:01 the blocked rule was disabled automatically by schedule.

thank you all

That screenshot from https://github.com/AdguardTeam/AdGuardHome/issues/1203 Add 👍 to it and comment.

It's more powerful feature than to #951 (or ultimate scheduling or parental control weapon) because user can add any type/kind of block or white list (contain service(s) or sites) and set-up recurring or one time schedule

+1 for this feature . My son wakes up early just to watch youtube and play games. It would be great to block services daily on specific time.

Indeed this is a desired feature. DNS controls so much that it can function as the ultimate traffic kill-switch and an efficient one because blackholing DNS requests (and routes) isn't as resource-hungry as other tyles of NAT/firewall filtering. I'd rather block all DNS-requests at night to stop WAN traffic than having to resort to router WiFi and NAT schedulers.
