Prerequisites

  • I have checked the Wiki and Discussions and found no answer

  • I have searched other issues and found no duplicates

  • I want to request a feature or enhancement and not ask a question

Description

What problem are you trying to solve? - Easy auto upgrades.

Proposed solution - By publishing adguardhome to standard or stand alone repository.

Alternatives considered - Manual upgrades, because sometimes clicking on "Update Now" button does not work. Also sometimes users don't login to adguard webpage often if things are working fine :)

Dear AdGuard developers,
I made some efforts to create a Debian package for the AdGuardHome. I'd like to publish it to the official Debian repository now. Are you ok with that? Is that something that you would like to have?
Building debian packages is done with the help of configuration in the debian/ subdirectory. Are you ok with eventually keeping that directory as part of this repository? (You may check my fork to see what it contains).

@vitkabele, sorry about the late response.

Yes, you can publish your port of AdGuard Home to the Debian repository. But please make sure that you add a way to contact you or other port maintainers in case there are issues.

We'd rather not expand the current list of packages that we support in-repo, at least for the foreseeable future. I hope that's okay with you.

Great. I will provide my contact and take care about it.

Sure. I learned anyway that it's not the preferred workflow for the Debian maintainers :)
