Delete branch "%!s()"
Deleting a branch is permanent. Although the deleted branch may continue to exist for a short time before it actually gets removed, it CANNOT be undone in most cases. Continue?

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe
I listen to a lot of anime soundtracks. Some of these soundtracks, their info on musicbrainz is ONLY in Japanese, with Japanese characters... My server throws a fit with these characters...
Example:
Artist: 藤澤慶昌
Album: 映画「ノーゲーム・ノーライフ ゼロ」オリジナルサウンドトラック
Track 1: プロローグ -決意-
Its also nearly impossible for me (as someone who does not speak Japanese) to know which album/song is which.
Describe the solution you'd like
I would like the option to Hard Overwrite the Artist, Album, and Track names with Custom names... while still leaving the song linked with the metadata... this would only be for File structure and filename purposes.
Describe alternatives you've considered
Only Alternative i can think of is to learn another language. and thats not really plausible.
Anything else?

Not the same feature but related to #2159 and #682
@SawkeeReemo commented on GitHub (Jan 10, 2023):
Waking this sucker up for 2023! Would love this option. If we can't pull from MBZ automatically, being able to manually override would be a great compromise.
Would love to be able to have a "releases" type option for Artists like we do Albums, where you could select the "release" of your Artist's name. Zero idea how plausible that is, but maybe another way to think about this manual override as well. ...maybe...
@CollOfTheWild commented on GitHub (Dec 12, 2024):
Please add this. Trying to add Masayoshi Takanaka, Musicbrainz even has the alias listed on their page, but Lidarr can't search based on it, nor can I edit the artist name in Lidarr.
@bakerboy448 commented on GitHub (Dec 12, 2024):
The primary development team is engaged in over five applications, including Lidarr, Prowlarr, Radarr, Readarr, Whisparr, and Sonarr. Currently, there is approximately one-ish active developer contributing to these projects, with none of the contributors working on them full-time. Additionally, all members involved, whether in development or support roles, are volunteers and do not receive compensation for their contributions. Each team member balances their commitments alongside full-time jobs, family responsibilities, and other personal obligations.
As a result, the list of tasks to be completed across these projects, along with the various backends and modules, is extensive, while the available time for addressing these tasks is limited.
Lidarr and Readarr effectively have no development work at this time occurring for new features.
@bakerboy448 commented on GitHub (Sep 6, 2025):
No plans for manual metadata editing for renaming.
