Description:
Change File Date is a nice feature, but is only really useful when all media is in the same folder without subfolders. Most of the time, radarr is setup to create folders to contain all movie media (video file, subtitles, artwork, ...)
If this feature would be expanded to also change the containing folder to the release/cinema date, you could easily sort your movies by date.

just found this via google search. It would be nice if you could retroactively change the folder dates as well to the release date, so +1 this.
@tastyratz commented on GitHub (Jun 19, 2018):
I'm going to put my mark on this as well. What good is file date when everything is in a folder?
@AaronArgent commented on GitHub (Jul 22, 2019):
Any update on if this might happen?
@tastyratz commented on GitHub (Jun 9, 2020):
I'm going to jump in here to also say it should also change the dates inside the folder for associated metadata like fanart/poster/srt files.
Thought I might check in since this is a few years old now
@Qstick commented on GitHub (Jun 9, 2020):
What is the benefit of changing dates on metadata files?
@tastyratz commented on GitHub (Jun 9, 2020):
Consistency, likely an easy change to just rename entire contents of the created subfolder, may make management easier when working with files outside of the program (like in explorer). Allows complete search filtering.
@IrishTR commented on GitHub (Feb 28, 2022):
Would love to see this feature supported as well! Just established a new plex library after cloning content. While the file dates are correct,the folders have the new date when the transfer occurred, now Plex thinks all these many years old movies are "new" and thru the whole recently added category outta whack!
@enstit commented on GitHub (Mar 31, 2024):
Any update on this? It is a little bit annoying not being able to sort the movies collection by date when each movie is organized in its own folder.
