Hi,

I think there might be a problem with the add tab functionality. I am getting the following error in my PHP log file when I try to add a tab:

[Mon Apr 14 06:22:19 2014] [error] [client 124.150.160.81] PHP Notice: Undefined variable: pages in /var/www/html/custom/modules/Home/AddDashboardPages.php on line 85, referer: http://crm.absolutevalue.co.nz/index.php

I will continue to search for a solution, but perhaps you could look into it.

Cheers,
NB

There is a bug in creating new tabs on the home page that is talked about in the SuiteCRM forums. It took me a while to understand how to avoid it. the workaround is as follows. Click Add Tab. Type a name for this dashboard and choose the number of columns but do not click "Save". With the input prompt in the name field, hit the Enter key on your keyboard instead. The popup will disaapear to the right off the screen but no Tab appears. Now clcik the circular refresh arrow at the top of the Browser window and the page will redraw and the Tab will appear. This works for Google Chrome, i don't know if it solves the issue for all the other browsers.

I just tested it on my setup and it worked perfectly. To clarrify I am running SuiteCRM 7.1.1 on Debian and i am using Chrome as the web browser on my Win7 64bit PC. I can only think your problem is something more significant than the normal problem with Tabs. Have you checked out the SuiteCRM forums? I vaguely remember someone else complaining of a more fundermental issue with Tabs.

The workaround works in Chrome. Also if I try to add in the conventional way, by clicking the save button, it does not log any error in the log file. And it takes a lot of time to switch between tabs even in localhost.

Add tabs issues were resolved. Ensure you have the required permissions set and are using a SugarCRM CE/SuiteCRM supported version of PHP(preferrably 5.3.x).
