Describe the bug
Tidal used to work and after I updated I do not see a url to activate tidal and do not see downloads.
Expected behavior
A code to link accounts OR a way to input a API of some sort.
As of 3/8/2024 I do not see directions on how to do this and searching has returned no new results. Discord lidarr groups tend to not want to speak about the script.
@RandomNinjaAtk commented on GitHub (Mar 8, 2024):
If you need to authenticate, you’ll see it in the logs… so watch the logs
@KINGLIFER commented on GitHub (Mar 9, 2024):
Has the setup changed? I am not seeing the authenticate url in the logs.
I do see this:
TIDAL :: Verifying tidal-dl configuration
2024-03-09 14:47:24 :: Audio :: 2.32 :: TIDAL :: No default config found, importing default config "tidal.json"
2024-03-09 14:47:25 :: Audio :: 2.32 :: TIDAL :: Purging album list cache...
@RandomNinjaAtk commented on GitHub (Mar 9, 2024):
No the process hasn't changed, wait longer.... Or manually trigger the program and authenticate it.
@KINGLIFER commented on GitHub (Mar 10, 2024):
What could be a reason the authentication would not show up in logs? And what does this mean: TIDAL :: No default config found, importing default config "tidal.json" Is there somewhere where I could see the default config? (Regardless if this is part of the issue).
Thanks.
@RandomNinjaAtk commented on GitHub (Mar 10, 2024):
It only authenticates when it needs to authenticate. So either wait longer or authenticate it manually via cli. See client documentation.
@KINGLIFER commented on GitHub (Mar 11, 2024):
Although closed. I can verify that Tidal is not doing the authenticate URL. It is not hard to verify. I however am not sure why it is happening. I assume you do not use Tidal on your latest update. I also can not find this client documentation you are speaking of to do this manually. I understand you could be busy and do not have time to type here but when you leave information without many details the obvious response is going to be more questions.
@RandomNinjaAtk commented on GitHub (Mar 11, 2024):
If you can provide a log of the problem that you think there might be, it can be looked at… but as of now it’s user-error because you haven’t provided any logging data that actually shows a problem. As I’ve said before you need to wait longer… Your just stating that you think there is a problem cause it hasn’t prompted you at the time you think it should… which does not indicate a problem… it only prompts when/if needed… hence wait longer…
@KINGLIFER commented on GitHub (Mar 11, 2024):
Which log you would like RandomNinjaAtk? Trace or debug? It has been days and I am sure that is quite long for the url to appear. As well nothing has changed besides updating the scripts. This is why I asked has anything been changed. Previously you could also see the dl of the flac files in the logs which is not being shown and there is no tidal log. I can post as soon as you advise which logs you require. Thank you.
@RandomNinjaAtk commented on GitHub (Mar 11, 2024):
If you’re going to provide a log, it’s going to be the audio script, and you’re going to show when it searches, successfully finds a match and executes a download for a single release group…
@RandomNinjaAtk commented on GitHub (Mar 12, 2024):
That doesn’t show what I asked for, it searched for zero albums, please provide what was asked for if you want it to be looked at further….
@KINGLIFER commented on GitHub (Mar 12, 2024):
How can I show you a log of tidal searches when there is no tidal api connected? Ok perhaps I do not understand what you mean... so I went and added Eric Carmen to my library. https://listen.tidal.com/album/77074576

You said show you the audio logs. (They all are the same. There is nothing searching nor is there anything downloading and there is no URL request.) I attached my list to show it has been up (I deleted the bulk to simplify the list).
If you want to see lidarr logs there are downloads using newsgroups and torrents. Regardless here is the logs for Eric Carmen.

@RandomNinjaAtk commented on GitHub (Mar 12, 2024):
If you read the audio script, you see that it says 0 albums to process, which means it didn’t search for anything…. I’m done with this conversation though because it’s going nowhere…
No one else is reporting an issue and I can tell you for a fact that it’s working as designed. Your just not understanding how it works and I can’t simply seem to explain it well enough other than to tell you nothing is wrong and you haven’t proven anything is wrong and if something was wrong more than a single user would be reporting it….
hint to see it work as designed, add a new artist to your library. Also read your the log more throughly and actually try to understand what it’s telling you….
I’m done here though… feel free to post an update once you’ve understood there is no problem and that way it can be useful for others…
@KINGLIFER commented on GitHub (Mar 12, 2024):
Ok let's keep this here for reference then. Thank you for responding. Just to be clear. I did do a new artist. (Literally showed you here.) The software was working previously. Nothing changed besides a recent update of the scripts. Secondly I am here because yes 0 albums are being processed. Some how I think you saw that as proof that I do not know what I am doing. Lastly If all one has to do is wait for the api url how could I not be understanding.
But No problem. Someone with patience I am sure will assist and be polite about it I am sure.
@KINGLIFER commented on GitHub (Mar 17, 2024):
Fix with no attitude!
renamed tidal-dl.token.json to
old.tidal-dl.token.json
Location:
lidarr/config/xdg/
After some time (A few minutes) the tidal api url showed.
All downloads started afterwards.
So if no one here wants to help and tidal stops try this method.
