Describe the feature/enhancement
Hey,
is there a way to add the server or app as a sonos service in the future?
@advplyr commented on GitHub (Feb 6, 2022):
I took a look through their docs and I see it is possible but will take some effort. I don't own these speakers though, so it likely wouldn't be me who builds this out.
@jt196 commented on GitHub (Mar 9, 2022):
This might tie in with the Subsonic API request #399 as you can hook that up to Sonos using Bonob.
@genebean commented on GitHub (May 26, 2022):
This would be nice. If access to a speaker is all that is in the way of this, I / we might be able to get you one of these: https://www.ikea.com/us/en/p/symfonisk-wifi-bookshelf-speaker-black-gen-2-20506584/ They work with the standard Sonos app (I have one)
@prolife86 commented on GitHub (Nov 15, 2022):
O, yes, Sonos support would be great!
@jmt-gh commented on GitHub (Jan 23, 2023):
I have this up and working here:
https://github.com/jmt-gh/audiobookshelf-sonos
This is by no means feature complete, or even really production ready, but it works (audio plays, covers are shown, progress is taken in to account and also updated on ABS). Next steps feature wise are to automate the "adding the app to sonos" part, getting chapters to actually work properly, and adding more comprehensive support for M4Bs.
I'd recommend reading through the whole "How to use" section before starting
@genebean commented on GitHub (Jan 23, 2023):
Very cool @jmt-gh! Out of curiosity, why a standalone thing instead of something integrated here?
@JAKAMI99 commented on GitHub (Nov 20, 2023):
Would love this feature, maybe this is possible trough utilizing apple airplay?
@genebean commented on GitHub (Nov 21, 2023):
Many SONOS units don't have AirPlay, unfortunately.
@frozen-cdn commented on GitHub (Jan 19, 2024):
Willing to donate for this feature! I am a new user of the app and like it very much however it's not what I need until it can interface with Sonos! Love Audiobook shelf though so far thank you!
