I have searched the existing issues, both open and closed, to make sure this is not a duplicate report.

The bug

The video below explains it best. What I do in the video:

First selection runthrough:

Select a photo and drag/scoll down to select more photos
If I stop the fast scrolling mode at first, all photos are selected successfully.
Then I continue selecting more by fast scrolling down more
At some point when I stop with the drag motion, the photos are not selected anymore. You see the 117 at top which stays the same, no more photos are selected
I release the touch

Second selection runthrough:

I select again a photo and start scrolling
Same again, after some time again, the photos are not selectable anymore
It stays at 172
So I go back to the top where photos are still selected
And it removes selected photos again, so number decreases to 168, and I can even get some more photos selected when scrollig a bit down again, I get 173.
But then after doing same again, nothing works anymore, and I cannot deselect or select any photos anymore with any scrolling guesture
So I release the touch

So somehow after some time in the selection dragging gesture, it somehow breaks.

I already tried different settings for the album grid, like dynamic, 2-6 photos per row, and different grouping, like automatic, month, day etc. But the same result for all :)

I am on latest server, and mobile and have a Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra which is up2date.

Oh just checked also the closed issues and found #20165

Is mine a duplicate? And is it already fixed but just not released or in 1.173.3 which isnt available in Google Play yet for me?

Yes issue is still there. Just tested it on the latest version 1.141.1

Was selecting many (hundreds) of photos and noticed same issue.
If I try to multi select from recent photos, no issues.
If I scroll down about 600+ photos, and then try to multi select, then the screen flickers and the multi select doesn't work.
Version 2.3.1

I also tested again on latest version with an iPhone and still have the issue. It's way better than it was like month ago but is still there for long selections.
This way it is difficult to delete many files at once from device where one wants to batch select a ton of photos :)

Using Vivaldi browser. Search for a term, selects picture, clicks back. Scrolling up/down any part of the Immich page is no longer working.
