I have searched the existing issues, both open and closed, to make sure this is not a duplicate report.

The bug

The "Go back"-arrow (when playing a video in a browser, top left corner) is unusable as it conflicts with Apple features built in to MacOS 26

. The "Go back"-arrow is then inaccessible.

cannot reproduce this on neither Safari on iPhone nor Mac. Could you try on the demo instance? https://demo.immich.app/photos.

Also could you upload the/one video you have issues with.

I can confirm this occurs when the content completely fills the window (aspect ratio of video/browser window affects this) both on the demo instance as well as my own instance running v. 2.3.1. Video format: .MOV H265 Dolby Vision, shot iPhone 15 Pro (probably irrelevant). If the "Go back-arrow" was moved down 5% the issue might be fixed.

Thanks for the recordings.
For me it's the other way around in fact 😄 , i can click the "return" button but not the Apple buttons

Like @timonrieger I also can't use the native controls at the top of the video on Safari 26 - fullscreen, PIP, volume. Immich's control bar at the top of the page blocks the pointer events and makes those controls disappear.
Safari doesn't let you remove part of the controls, or move them. The only solution would be to disable native controls altogether, and add custom controls instead.
