Hello, can you add an option to allow users to always download sequentially their files ?
I used to download sequentially videos, cause I can wath them during the download.
Something like that :
-Download sequentially : Always [or] Never [or] Depending of file type/extension
-File Type to download sequentially : Videos [and/or] Pictures [and/or] Music [and/or] Others
-File extension to download sequentially : [empty field to fill by user, ex: avi, flv, mp4, jpg, whatever]

Sequential downloading is meant to be sporadic.

Hello alderz, thanks for the explanations. So I think that qbittorrent will never implement this feature.
Maybe we can close the ticket...
@sledgehammer999 commented on GitHub (Feb 9, 2014):
I'll keep it for the moment. I might implement it with a warning on the preferences.
(I think someone else has proposed this again too)
@alfrix commented on GitHub (Feb 9, 2014):
kind of duplicate of #164 a bit more specific
@Binnette commented on GitHub (Feb 15, 2014):
@sledgehammer999 thanks ! This functionality is very useful, especially for downloading videos.
@sledgehammer999 commented on GitHub (Feb 15, 2014):
After reading the link alderz linked to, and giving it some thought I am of the belief that this shouldn't be automated.
However a new option in the "add new torrent" dialog that will control this is 'ok' I think. Of course, this option will be always disabled for each torrent and the user will have to enable it per torrent again and again.
Closing in favor of #164

Why? I am sorry: the bittorrent protocol is out there, and I am going to painstakingly set all my files to download sequentially.
Considering the number of peers and the speed of networks and connections nowadays, I think the "warning" is sadly dated. Given this, and since I will find a way to do it anyway, why not then give me the option to do it automatically?
