qBittorrent & operating system versions
qBitorrent: v4.5.1 (64 Bit)
OS: Windows 11 Home (10.0.22xxx)
Qt: 5.15.8
Libtorrent: 1.2.18.0
What is the problem?
New PC
I have used QB and the site from before. So I know they worked before.
I tried opening a file from the site and it will load into QB then I get an error.
Errored: Couldn't write to file. Reason "access is denied". Torrent is now in "upload only" mode

@egm813 commented on GitHub (Feb 14, 2023):
I'm having the same issue, same specs except that I'm using Linux Mint 21.1
@egm813 commented on GitHub (Feb 14, 2023):
Update: Installed Deluge. Same files that I was trying with QB are working fine. So it would seem not an OS problem or general issue, but a QB issue.
@stemaDev commented on GitHub (Mar 23, 2023):
Same problem here with 4.5.2. I installed qbittorrent to replace utorrent and brought all the .torrent files, many of them were checked and now seeding but some of them stopped at 70-100% and saying this error. I tried running the app as administrator to no avail.
@luzpaz commented on GitHub (May 14, 2023):
Typo in the ticket title. Please add the whole error to the title of the ticket for easier recognition and less generic
@xavier2k6 commented on GitHub (Mar 21, 2025):
This ticket has been closed.
Closure Reason: being "out-of-date", and thus either most likely resolved in recent versions or no longer applicable.
If you experience the reported problem or similar in the latest version, please open a new issue report with the requested information in the issue template.
Due to the changes made to the qBittorrent code and its dependencies over time, the exact cause of your problem could be totally different than the original one, despite the visible symptoms of the bug being similar.
Thus, providing relevant updated information is crucial to find and fix the root cause of a recurrent problem or regression.
A new issue report with relevant updated data gathered from the latest version is preferable to necroing an old report with a comment like "still happens in version x.y.z", even if you think the bug is the same, or suspect of a regression.
Thank you for your contribution(s).
