This is non-intuitive for user because for user only the message "search is finished" is shown without any information that really it was cancelled because the other search started.

I can think of two way to resolve the issue:

  1. Paint status in red with a message "search is cancelled".
  2. Allow for multiple tabs do a search concurrently. And color tabs text (in blue) showing where search is currently active (for example: blue -- active, black -- done).

I like the second option more.

@sledgehammer999 What do you think? What options do you like?

Yeah I hadn't realized that. (I don't use search that much either)
I agree with the second one. And a good addition would to move the search status inside the tab instead.

Hey guys, I have added this as an issue in the forums. I know I was able to do multiple searches at once in the past. I cannot in the current version or close previous versions. Not sure when it stopped working, but it did. I mean its not a huge issue and I suppose one does not search for many things at once, but it is useful when we do have more than one thought of something to search for. Immediately upon searching for a second item the current search will stop. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
T

This is still broken.
I disagree with the above statement that this is is not a huge issue... I specifically use Qbittorrent BECAUSE it has that handy search function. I used to be able to start 5 or 10 searches, go grab a cup of coffee and then come back and browse them all.

Please multitask the searchs again!

@ngosang supposedly we allowed concurrent searches in the past. Was there a reason we disabled them? I can't remember.

I don't think so, anyway they may block you in search engines if you perform several simultaneous searches

old bug

qBittorrent search plugins are now in a different repository, please open search related issues there.

We are working hard to fix/improve official plugins. Please, download last qBittorrent release and click "Search plugins => Check for updates" to get last versions.
