The only reason why most people like me use Tixati or uTorrent over qBitTorrent is that these software's has the scheduler feature that can download certain selected files at various times of the day.
We get unlimited bandwidth from 10pm to 6am and can pre-select which files we want to download at our desired time(s) range's to start and stop.
I really like qBittorrent and wish it had the same feature too, so that I can switch to it without any hesitation.
@ngosang commented on GitHub (Apr 20, 2016):
I don't know if it works but in Options => Speed you can enable the scheduler. Set the alternative rate limit to 0.
@jackuars commented on GitHub (Apr 21, 2016):
I'm not sure how that is even a scheduler feature that I mentioned in the first post. It doesn't start/stop the selected files at pre-defined times of the day.
Can one of the project members implement this feature?
@RussellJones commented on GitHub (Sep 8, 2016):
I think the confusion is that you can schedule alternative rates during certain times but @jackuars is correct this does not auto start at predefined times only limit the download rate during these times.
You could limit all torrents to 0kbs during these times effectively stopping the download but its not quite the same.
I would also like to see more features / a full scheduler added. For example I would like to be able to enable more than one period e.g. restricted/autostart between Mon - Fri 6-9 am and 6pm - 1am and weekends restricted/autostart between 1am and 7am.
@slowriot commented on GitHub (Dec 9, 2016):
Contrary to the above advice, the scheduler does not allow you to set any speeds to zero.

I have opened an issue to address this at #6020.
@jackuars commented on GitHub (Dec 10, 2016):
@RussellJones Yes this is what I suggested. A scheduler that auto-starts at different times for different torrent files. This feature is already present in Tixati and I'd like to see the same for qBitTorrent.

Closing as duplicate of #1426 then. Thanks @thalieht!
