Version 3.3.4 for Mac crashes on quit. Trying to restart the app, it hangs on start and goes non responsive without the qbittorrent process appearing in activity monitor. The app will not open unless the machine is rebooted.

I don't have this issue. Which version of OS X do you have? I got 10.11.5

10.11.5 here also. It doesn't happen every time but when it does I can't get it to come back without rebooting.

may be you have some third party apps installed like firewall, antivirus or others which modify system files or drivers

I've got this, from v3.3.3 to v3.3.6
often have to reinstall as the app corrupts during reboot

Same here. 3.3.6 crashes on quit and have to force quit. Mac OS 10.11.6. Any progress with the problem?

Same issue.

macOS Sierra: 10.12.2 (16C67)
qbittorrent: 3.3.10

If I have to reboot my machine to stop and restart the application I'm best to use something else. Particularly problematic for a torrenting application.

Any error message?

Nothing. Command-Q to quit leaves it in the dock.

Force quitting from the dock or force quitting from the mac native "Force Quit" interface doesn't remove it from that menu.

It's not in "ps -A" or in Activity Monitor but the dock and Force Quit dialog still say it's active and not responding.

It's as if it really quit but somehow macOS still thinks it's active.

The only other I thing I see, in macOS's native Force Quit and Activity Monitor it's "qBittorrent" when active, "qbittorrent" (capitalization) when it's unresponsive after a quit. As if it's referring to an application when running and just the executable after, the executable in the qBittorrent package.

@chrismajewski exactly!

I've tried to raise this multiple times -- the usual feedback is "it must be your drivers" which is a non-response. I thought qbittorrent is a mac native app? Can't it be optimized to eliminate these undesirable behaviors? "quitting" should not initiate any disk activity. If it must, throw up a box that says "shutting down" so we know what its doing.

@7ABt6kB yea, it's unfortunate. QBT has a better feature set, but uT is stable. I'll keep an eye on this but I've already gone back. It may be time to look for alternates again, I didn't hate transmission and it may be better on resources now.

@chrismajewski I thought uT was adware now.. I'm having good results with Deluge but again QBT has good features.

@okeatime ain't nobody got time for that. Here is a comparison of the same 100 torrents, 2 days running them on qbittorrent, 2 days running them on deluge. See how much slower qbittorrent is?
qbittorrent-vs-deluge

this app has some serious bugs to be worked out yet. Good work on it so far, features are great but if its not stable or fast...

We are closing all issues related to old qBittorrent versions (qBittorrent < 4.1.0).
Please, update to last release and, if the bug/error/crash is still present, open another issue.
Thank you.
