Hello,
I just installed qBittorrent 3.0.9 on Windows Server 2008 R2 Standart x64 and it fails to launch with the following error:
The application has failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is in
correct. Please see the application event log or use the command-line sxstrace.e
xe tool for more detail.
Is there any known workaround for this problem?
@sledgehammer999 commented on GitHub (May 19, 2013):
Are you using the official installer?
Could you either post the mentioned log or the output from sxstrace.exe?
For sxstrace.exe: Open command-line and navigate to folder where qbittorrent.exe is save(eg C:\Program Files\qBittorrent) and issue this command "sxstrace.exe qbittorrent.exe"
@ArtemZ commented on GitHub (May 19, 2013):
I managed to fix it by installing Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 SP1 Redistributable Package (x86)
@sledgehammer999 commented on GitHub (May 19, 2013):
You didn't answer my question. Did you use the official installer?
@ArtemZ commented on GitHub (May 19, 2013):
Yes, sure. I downloaded it from qbittorrent.org
@Tg8igPGjh3 commented on GitHub (Jun 9, 2013):
@sledgehammer999 - This can be closed. The same error happens if you install Avast and you don't have Visual C++. This "Client side.." blah blah.
@sledgehammer999 commented on GitHub (Jul 13, 2013):
Just a heads up although this is closed. I found the problem and I am trying to fix it. More info: http://qbforums.shiki.hu/index.php?topic=2031.msg7220#msg7220
