Hello,
I just installed qBittorrent 3.0.9 on Windows Server 2008 R2 Standart x64 and it fails to launch with the following error:
The application has failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is in
correct. Please see the application event log or use the command-line sxstrace.e
xe tool for more detail.

Is there any known workaround for this problem?

Are you using the official installer?

Please see the application event log or use the command-line sxstrace.exe tool for more detail.

Could you either post the mentioned log or the output from sxstrace.exe?
For sxstrace.exe: Open command-line and navigate to folder where qbittorrent.exe is save(eg C:\Program Files\qBittorrent) and issue this command "sxstrace.exe qbittorrent.exe"

I managed to fix it by installing Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 SP1 Redistributable Package (x86)

You didn't answer my question. Did you use the official installer?

@sledgehammer999 - This can be closed. The same error happens if you install Avast and you don't have Visual C++. This "Client side.." blah blah.
