if i remember correct original was 6881 but suggested to change between 6881 - 6889 if 6881 is already used

Tools->Options...->Connection

If upnp/nat=pmp doesn't work (check the log), then manually forward the port you set from your router's interface.

I think there is a bug in current version. Even though I change the port as you mentioned, the little "Connection Status Icon" in the bottom panel's center still shows as "No direct connection". Checking the execution log confirms that the port is indeed changed.

So, I feel that "Connection Status" icon always checks on default ports no matter what option is set in configuration.

I may be wrong, can you please check and comment on that. Thanks a lot.

  1. Did you check your router to see if that port is actually forwarded/mapped?
  2. Did you use a torrent after the change? The status can change only if there is some traffic.

@sledgehammer999 Yes, it works after I change the settings and I've a particular range forwarded in my router too and the specified port lies in that range. Sorry, I missed the part of saying that it's working for me after doing the change.
