I guess people have asked for this before. I have some ideas on implementation.
My suggestion:

Allow profile switching from command line.
When using non-default profile, append profile name to qBittorrent folder in appdata, ~, whatever.
Basically you're done.

Portable version makes sense only on Windows.
What are your thoughts on this? Is this feature really needed?
