Ok, this feature looks really straightforward to implement so I guess I will give it a go. (And fail spectacularly.)

The idea: See title.

Example implementation: Luckily the category menu already has an "Add Category" option. It also has an icon. I think the RSS reader's "category picker" could be made smaller, and a small little plus symbol could be added just to the right of the list picker. So that way it would be easy to see what it does. And on click, it should bring up the same routine/function that the "Add Category" does.
