I want to suggest an option that will tell qBittorrent to remember last chosen category.

It would be useful for people whom download many torrents in one category at once.

For example, I search and download several books. Having found the first one, I start downloading it and select a category. Then I download another torrent file and I just have to open it and click OK. And the category will already be selected.

This will speed up the process of starting new downloads.

How is "Set as default category" not what you ask for?

Its two different cases.

"Default category" is useful for those who mostly often download something similar.

On other side "Remember last chosen category" is useful those who "batch" download each time in different category.

For me I can look for new music and download several albums and its boring to pick category for each torrent-file.
Then I can switch to download some books and "Default category" will not help me in that.

gonna +1 this one. i just swapped from manual to categories+automatic. with 11k torrents i finally got sick of handling the changing of locations then the changing of categories etc.

unfortunately when batch adding chunks of torrents, not having a "remember last category" options is going to slow the procoess down literally by a factor of the number of torrents youre adding.

as a layman, at the mercy of the big brains though :P

either way thanks for the time and work on qbit <3

It's nice that the attitude to the issue changed from the answer given in 2014 (#1747):

No. If you use a folder more often that the others then you should make it the default one. Either by setting it in the options or by selecting in the "add new torrent" dialog and enabling the box saying "set as default path".

To allowing a bounty for solving it.
