qBittorrent 4.1.5, Windows 10 1903
As title says, can't load webpages or use any internet during startup of qBittorrent. This may not be noticeable for most people but the checking resume data phase is a lot longer for me as I have 4500 torrents added. Network returns to normal after finishing this phase for all torrents.
@xavier2k6 commented on GitHub (Sep 3, 2019):
Are you using a mechanical drive or an ssd?
Please update to 4.1.7 & report back if this helps as there has been improvements on torrent checking.
@OstrichRider commented on GitHub (Sep 3, 2019):
Thank you for letting me know there is a newer update. I was avoiding 4.1.6 due to other issues.
4.1.7 seems to have improved the issue but not completely fixed it. After a few tests, sometimes internet cuts for just a few seconds now and sometimes it cuts out for 30 seconds.
The app is installed on an ssd while all the torrent data is stored on a mechanical drive.
@xavier2k6 commented on GitHub (Sep 3, 2019):
update your network drivers & OS - 1903 has been noted for DPC Latency issues.......fundamentaly though your bottleneck is more than likely due to the fact the data is stored on a mechanical drive.
You may also want to increase the memory available for checking torrents.
Tools->Options->Advanced->(Under libtorrent Section)->Outstanding memory when checking torrents
You may also want to slightly increase Asynchronous I/O threads
