This is the above message I get when I type the command below

command: youtube-dl "http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4E9NOoR9t9w"
youtube-dl version: 2011.09.30
python version: Python 2.7.1+

May be the same problem as #185 . I'll have a look at it over the weekend. On first sight, looks like we miss the player URL.

Ok, I wish I knew about programming and writing scripts. I am at the level of making scripts to download multiple videos but that's where it ends :(

The video you try to download is private, so you have to login with youtube-dl first

This video is indeed private, and not accessible (at least for me) in the web interface. Therefore, I'm closing this issue. I'll reopen it if someone can provide a step-by-step list of how to watch the video in the web (or any other) interface, including the IP address (or at least the country) where requests originate from.
