I've verified and I assure that I'm running youtube-dl 2016.05.01
At least skimmed through README and most notably FAQ and BUGS sections
Searched the bugtracker for similar issues including closed ones
Question

Is there a way to specify the duration of the record of the live stream? e.g. -t 00:00:10 record the live stream for 10 seconds?

FYI: For non-plain streams, #8851 provides more information. There are not concrete solutions yet.
