apt-get got a new version, but was not good enough so I edited the update.py myself to comment out the return(); in line number: 54

still the youtube-dl is biarching with some error. pls look into it. thansk.

Thank you for the report. YouTube changed their player on November 13th, so you'll need at least youtube-dl 2014.11.13 to play all YouTube videos. See our FAQ if you have trouble updating.

We also cannot support versions of youtube-dl that you modified yourself. In particular, I do not understand why just removing the return would do anything beneficial, let a lone lead to an updated version of youtube-dl.

Thaqnks. The video downloaded successfully when --no-playlist was added as an option. Just my stupidity not loking carefully at the stderr;) The reason why return was removed because the ubuntu repo does not update the package as often as the github does fix bugz. IKHO, it is sometmes better to allow the (L)user to update the youtube-dl from github even if (S)he installed the thingy as a package. actually youtube-dl was first called from aria2c, then resorted to youtube-dl itself.
