My suggestion:

Add a "default settings" option for adding a new torrent.

The "Torrent Settings" in the torrent adding dialogue: the Options are by default all set to be blank in all checkboxes.

My suggestion is this: Allow a setting in "Options > Downloads" where the default checkboxes can be set. OR a setting within the Add Torrent Box, where the defaults can be set.

99/100 times: I am going to set "Start Torrent" and "Download first and last pieces first" HOWEVER at the moment there seems to be no option to set this as my default setting. This could be something which could be placed in the add torrent dialogue, or perhaps in the Options section.

"Start torrent" is "Do not start the download automatically" in global options (unintuitive, i agree). First/last piece has been requested before here #9746. All other settings also have defaults in settings AFAIK except for "Sequential" which is not going to happen. Use the search function if you want to find out why.
