qBittorrent version and Operating System:

qbittorrent 3.3.16
Windows 10 PRO 1703

Windows 10 10.0.15063

What is the problem:

The problem is:
By deselecting the files that should not be downloaded, they are downloaded.

What is the expected behavior:

When unchecking a file, it should not be downloaded.

It does not make any sense, to have an option that does not work !!!

Dupe #7489 and #7379

Devs say it's how torrent works but other torrent clients don't have such a behavior. You have to wait until they consider to fix it.

Duplicate of #2659

Version 4.0.x is released. It uses libtorrent 1.1.x which puts the unwanted part files in the hidden file
".<torrent_hash>.parts" which is put in the same folder as the root folder(if any) of the torrent.
For the moment it's not possible to put that file somewhere else.
