Please provide the following information

qBittorrent version and Operating S

4.1.0 Windows 10

If on linux, libtorrent and Qt version

(type here)

What is the problem

Qbittorrent stays in the background when I close it and I have to manually close it through task manager

What is the expected behavior

It should close.

Steps to reproduce

(type here)

Extra info(if any)

Is it safe to reinstall the last version over the current version, because that one works flawlessly.

Edit: It actually just seems to take longer than usual, like a minute. I think previous versions would take a while also, but only like 5-10 seconds.

Same problem here. qbt-4.1.0-win-x64(official) with libtorrent-1.1.7.0. It happens when you want to exit qbt while one or more torrents are still downloading. GUI closed but qbittorrent.exe still running.

And I think it's the same problme in https://github.com/qbittorrent/qBittorrent/issues/8799 and https://github.com/qbittorrent/qBittorrent/issues/8620 and more...

Disconnect from Internet or disable network interface will make qbittorrent.exe quit.

If you end task by taskmgr, qbt will recheck all downloading torrents in next start.

Thanks, I actually remember trying to close / re-open qbittorrent in previous versions and it not re-opening, but would re-open after a few seconds. Which is what made me think that it actually is in a "closing down" state for some reason for a while after you exit the program, which is why i decided to check if eventually it would completely close on its own. It took about a minute, I only tried once so far though. Would like to get it to instantly close down, or at least go back to the 5~ seconds it took before this version.

Update: Not just exit while downloading, seeding will cause qbittorrent.exe hung up.

One temporary fix for now is changing the 'disk cache' value in 'options->advanced->libtorrent', from 64MiB by default, to 0, and restart qbt.

Update2: The "fix" above is just an "improvement", if you keep running the program for some days, it may still hang up when you want to exit.
